I am delighted to be joining YRCS and becoming part of a service that places a strong emphasis on thoughtful, relational, and psychologically informed care.
I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the HCPC and have over 14 years of clinical experience working across the NHS and specialist psychological services. Throughout my career, I have worked with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including challenges relating to health, relationships, mood, self-esteem, trauma, eating and body image concerns, and significant life transitions.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and formulation-led. I work alongside clients to develop a clear understanding of the difficulties that they are experiencing, how those difficulties may have developed within the context of their lives, and what may be keeping them going in the present. From there, therapy can begin to create opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.
I am trained in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA), and draw on a range of psychological models to tailor therapy to individual needs.
Above all, I believe the therapeutic relationship remains at the heart of effective therapy.
I am very much looking forward to joining the YRCS team and supporting clients through the practice.
Best wishes,
Dr Erika Filova
